So Megan did shorter fast an if you have high cortisol and a slow metabolism then is it still ok to do a 14 or 30 day fast because the first 4 days are always the hardest to get through so I would pefer do less shorter fasts.

Thanks to Dr. Fung I now fast 16 to 18 hours every day! After becoming fast adapted, I continued onto to a Keto diet, then onto Carnivore to restrict the amount of carbohydrate intake during my eating window. Keto worked for me, although rather slowly. Carnivore expedited the weight loss. I now weigh what I did in high school (at age 63). I take no medications. That whole calories in, calories out model we were taught for years was such a waste of time and effort. Although Carnivore is not for everyone, I feel like Dr. Fung has given us all the foundation to proper health recovery. Thank you Dr. Fung for all you do!

Your first few sentences are complete fantasy. I'm 78 years old. Born in 1946. We dieted like crazy from about age 14 on up. Almost every girl in high school worried about their weight and dieted. Our home economics classes weighed and measured us every week to see if we were too fat. Young women in college lived in dread fear of the Freshman 15, so we started doing speed to lose weight. So did my older sister's age group, born in the thirties . So did my mother, born in 1920. She went to the doctor in 1953 because she was too fat. He told her to start smoking. So she did. She died at age 46 as a result of his medical advice, designed to help her lose weight. Many, many women in the fifties started smoking because their doctors told them to. Don't think we were all slim with zero effort. We weren't.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to pay off our mortgage early. We were both still working, and took the payment amount that we had been using to pay off our mortgage faster and we put it straight into investments. We were able to retire early because of almost 7 years of putting away what would have been our mortgage payment as well as maxing out our 401K/403B plans. Thankfully we were taught by both of our parents the value of living within our means. Thank you for your advice. I know it will help people. we are interested in investments that could set me up for retirement , I mean I've heard of people that netted hundreds of thousands during these crash, I listened to someone on a podcast who earned over $650K in less than a year, what's the strategy behind such returns?

Even with the right strategies and appropriate assets, investment returns can differ among investors. Recognizing the vital role of experience in investment success is crucial. Personally, I understood this significance and sought guidance from a market analyst, significantly growing my account to nearly a million. Strategically withdrawing profits just before the market correction, I'm now seizing buying opportunities once again.

Well, I was trying to comment on the last person, but it went away. So ill try it here. I went on carnivore in 2023. After 9 months I quit because my hair was falling out and I don't have hair to lose. I was eating Omar (one meal a day) and loving it. But when my hair was falling out, I quit because I got scared. I paid almost 4K for another diet that promised I'd get my A1C down to 5.9 in 3 months. Of course I didn't and of course they didn't refund my money, but it turned out to be a low glycermic diet where you ate every few hours. I had already adjusted my body to omad, now I had to eat every few hours, "to keep my insulin level" they said. I hated every minute of it. I'm telling you this so you won't make the same mistake I did. I've fasted for the longest, 8 days water only. I was fasting 5 days water only. Then fasting 24 hours and doing omad for several months, before I quit. I'm going back to omad. If my hair starts falling out again, I'll know, its just my body throwing a fit and will stop when it sees I'm not starving. I wish I'd have known that in 2023. It would have saved me 4K.

The simplicity of this is why I love it and why it has worked for me. When I was a kid I ate what tasted good, strategic veggies when necessary but I never ate when I didn’t have to, I was way too busy having fun. In adulthood, the focus on diet (especially when I was pregnant!) led to major issues with food: anxiety and stress over controlling every nutrient, and calorie etc. now I just don’t eat every other day. There are days I control literally every calorie: 0! and that allows me days I’m free to be natural and NO MORE STRESS on either days because I don’t have to think about it

Ok, Dr.BS... now explain why some people would gain weight "drinking water", while other are eating chips, cakes, soda drinks, pizza, burgers, and so on, all day and night long, have no sleep regime, don't sleep enough, don't do any sports.... And do have their six-pack? ...you would say : "genetics"... But what does it means? It means, mainly that your body produces its own, random hormonal mixture. Which is usually - far from ideal. While people get prescribed hormonal therapy to change gender, hormonal therapy is prohibited to fix the obesity, oldness, allergies, and so on. Because these kind of doctors are casted in standard university "doctor shape", and do not have any thoughts themselves. They just repeat after each-other all the nonsense!
