Nothing seems to work for me. I've been intermittent fasting for a week now, only having water for around 18-20 hours, and have lost up to 13 lbs at first, from 216 down to 203. Now the weight is going back on . Example: yesterday morning when I got out of bed I weighed my self. I drink a glass of water after rising everyday. I played golf and only had water until 2:00 that afternoon; I had not eaten since 7 p.m. the night before. I had a salad of lettuce, tomato, green pepper, onion, greek salad dressing and feta cheese. At 6:00 I had a small plate of pasta with tomato sauce. Nothing else until bed. This morning I got up and weighed myself: I had gained 4 lbs. So frustrating, overall I have gained back 6 of the 13 lbs I had lost in the first few days.

For me when I eat husk oat grain I dont need food for a long time,. One thing tha I experience is that grain as nature give to us, soak over night like legumes and cooked like legumes dont give many issues. I notice that if we eat low quantaty there is no issue to. If you eat animal that are feed with modified corn is mutch worse.

Doctor, when you talk about diabetes remission, what do you mean? I ask because I have been following a carnivorous ketogenic diet with a 16:8 intermittent fasting schedule and exercising for 1.5 hours 5 times a week for a month now. Since almost the first day, I have stopped all medications. I have lost 33 pounds (from 290 pounds to 257 pounds) and my blood glucose levels have remained stable, always between 85 and 95 mg/dL when I measure. However, it is clear that I can't have any dietary indiscretions, otherwise, I will need medication. It's not my intention to return to my previous lifestyle, consuming sugar and refined carbs excessively, but does "remission" mean that if I eat an ice cream cone every Sunday and a pizza on Saturday night, while maintaining fasting and controlling my intake of these things on other days, I won't need medication and my body will behave like someone who doesn't have diabetes? My doctor says that glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) reflects an average of the last 3 months, so I think that if I stick to the regimen for 3 months, my HbA1c will certainly fall into the non-diabetic range, but that doesn't mean there is remission, as it would be a "cheat" since I'm not eating like a regular person. When you talk about "remission," do you mean as long as I maintain this super-restrictive lifestyle for the rest of my life, or can I dream of an occasional dessert or birthday cake? Because if it's the first possibility, then this conversation is nonsense, as it would be more about controlling diabetes through a diet that doesn't generate glucose and insulin. I ask this because famous doctors say that only prediabetes is reversible (like Dr. Dráuzio Varella, the "little flu" doctor)... No doctor specifies what remission means. This is important because dreaming about it would certainly be a strong motivation for me to achieve my 3-month regimen goal. Could you make a video explaining this better and talking about real cases?

Hello. I am here for an advice. If not from Dr Fung, perhaps from someone else. I started fasting 3 days ago. I am skipping breakfast and have my lunch at 12, dinner at 8pm. It is third day that that I didn’t go for no 2 I am normally very regular, every morning. Any advice? I have fibre with my meals which are low carb. And I drink loads of water. I can’t figure it out.

In the Fasting Lane book which I’ve read most recently it says that workouts combined with fasting are superb. It also said that most patients prefer to workout prior to breaking their fast. I workout every day but only for an hour and I also do 10k daily. But I am on my third day. I am staring by skipping breakfast. I can’t recall if the book says anything about 24-48 hours fast and high level of activity. But logically speaking, I would cut that training session by half or even stick to cardio (walking only). Perhaps somebody else will come back to you with their own experience. Make sure you drink plenty and take electrolytes in prolonged fast. I found, in the past that I had a major headache and training wasn’t enjoyable.

Depends which type. Dr Fung always recommends working with a health professional, who might need to monitor your meds. But fasting is recommended to those with type 2 as it leads to recovery. The Obesity Code and the Fasting Lane are fab books. I’ve learnt great deal from them and those videos are cherry on top. Best wishes.
